The Pyramid Model is an evidence-based prevention/intervention framework created to prevent challenging behavior and promote healthy social and emotional development in young children, birth through first grade. Participants will better understand practices that connect supporting positive relationships, engaging environments, intentionally planned social & emotional teaching strategies, and individualized interventions to enhancing social and emotional competence of young children.  Examples and concrete strategies for using recommended practices daily with children and their families will be explored.

This course provides participants with access and supports to engage with 18 hours of online e-Module interactive content.  6 additional hours of online reflective coaching will support individuals to self-assess, plan to and implement strategies and practices in their early care and education work. A Reflective Coach will provide guidance on implementation of the strategies and practices and request evidence of implementation plans during the reflective zoom sessions.

Participants should expect to work on the course throughout the timeframe rather than all at the end and should expect to spend a full 24 hours completing the online and coaching sessions.  Participants will receive 24 hours of continuing education after completing both the E-modules and reflective coaching. This course meets requirements to earn YoungStar credit.
