Early Childhood Consultant
This course will provide training to early care and education teachers and providers on the development of nutrition policies which are key for improving and sustaining nutrition quality of meals served and the nutrition environment. Additionally, participants will learn how to support program assessment, improvement plans and continuous evaluation which all draw upon ongoing support from staff and families. Early care and education programs will feel empowered to improve the quality of the meals and snacks served by including foods recommended for proper growth and development of children from birth through age 12, developing effective menus that include foods recommended for proper growth and development, and making mealtimes enjoyable and pleasant while promoting healthy eating habits and behaviors.
